Hallo!
This journal is Friends Only.
It contains random rants about my life and questionable interests. May cause eye and brain damage.

If you add me; please comment, and if it seems to me like we have something in common, or if I know you from a community or something, I'll probably add you back.

Ta!

Old news, but OMGWTF is this. *head-desk*

Looks like a decent, funny action adventure - except for the fact that they totally RAPED MY FAVOURITE HERO. I don't even know where to start, so I don't think I will.

From [info]sheryden:
(1) List 15 celebrities you would shag without even asking questions.
(2) Put all of them in order of your lust for them. (1 is the hottest.)
(3) Say which movie/show/thing it was that hooked you.
(4) Supply photos.
(5) Tag five people. Just do it, it's fun.

So many men, so little time. )

GAAH! I've spent three days trying to download The Seven-Per-Cent Solution, and now that it's finally finished, I discover it's dubbed in Italian. I want to slap someone.

Well. I hear it's no good anyway. But I like to form my own opinions of things.

Grr.

EDIT: Also, I just watched Obama's inauguration speech. Impressive. I like him. :) Good for you, America!

Notice!

This is The Artist Formerly Known as j_eadig.

I changed my name because I... wanted to. :) I got sick of the old one and I'm not a huge LOTR geek anymore. The new one is sort of an inside joke... with myself.

There's a vampire theme on SVT2 tonight. Right now they're airing the new(er) version of Nosferatu. Yay for German vampires. It started with a looong shot of mummified children. It was scary and I don't know if I dare to watch it. :( But I want to see Bram Stoker's Dracula, which airs later. Hang in there! I'm glad it's not the original Nosferatu, though - Max Schreck was crazy scary.
Another good thing about this version is that Bruno Ganz is playing Jonathan Harker (he was Hitler in Der Untergang, for those of you who don't know that movie by heart). I just looked it up, I never would have recognized him. Add thirty years and a mustache... Also, his wife is way out of his league.

Oh, and have some crotch grabbing. I know this video is really old, and I can't believe I found it for the first time only yesterday. Needless to say, I love it.

*phew* I'm with you, Ianto.

From [info]sheryden.

1. Open your music collection and set the songs to shuffle/random.
2. Take the first 25 and write the first line or two from each.
3. Have people guess the songs.
4. Strike them out as people guess.

I was a dear and skipped the Swedish songs. )

I always thought major conflicts would be better solved with dance battles than with weapons of mass destruction and other silly things.

I'm sooo excited and upset and close to hysteria over next week's episode of House.

Crying Wilson!!! I've waited four seasons for this. Omg... I'm going to bite my nails off. And cry.

I just finished watching this weeks ep: it ended in me going "ASDFGHJK!!!" after shouting "AMBER!!!" about fifteen times when that weird girl on the bus asked what her necklace was made of.

Hmm. Can you tell that nothing overly exciting is going on in my life at the moment?

Since the Torchwood fandom has so many talanted writers (and not to mention the hottest canon slash couple ever), I have found myself with a certain amount of bookmarked fan fiction. So why not share, eh?

Note that these are just my personal favourites, and that most of them have adult content because... that's what floats my boat. Also, I'm too lazy to write descriptions (there are many fics) - just click and find happiness, 'kay?

Stories are sorted by author, more will be added as I read and like them. :) Last updated September 2, 2008.

So without further ado, I give you:

I'm trying to do my literature exam right now. How typical of our teacher to pick the hardest and dirtiest of D.H. Lawrence's stories for us to analyze. Thanks! >:(

Anyway, [info]zodiacfaerie just gave me an excuse to take a break. :D

List ten fictional characters you wouldn't kick out of bed (in no particular order) and tag five people to do the same.

1. Dr. Gregory House, House
2. Professor Severus Snape, HP
3. Captain Jack Sparrow, PotC
4. James Norrington, PotC
5. Desmond Hume, Lost
6. Captain Jack Harkness, Torchwood
7. Ianto Jones, Torchwood
8. Mark Antony, Rome
9. Lt. William Bush, Hornblower
10. Captain Lee Adama, Battlestar Galactica

Hmm... Looks like a serious Captain fetish. xD
I'm not tagging anyone, do it if you like.

So this chick is to represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest.

It could definitely be worse. This was one of the best, actually. And it was very much expected.

Oh, and they're airing This Life + 10 right now! I've been trying to download that for ages! Not that I've seen This Life, but hey, it's Jack Davenport and Jason Hughes...!

The Cambridge Comma

ATTENTION, NATIVES!

I have a question for all you native English speakers, British/American/whatever doesn't matter. We discuss this issue in our grammar seminars every time we meet, and no one has a proper satisfactory answer.

Is it OK to put a comma before an "and"?

Like this: I was born in 1984, and this year I'll celebrate my birthday on the Moon.
Or like this: I was born in 1984 and this year I'll celebrate my birthday on the Moon.
Yeah, I came up with that sentence myself.

Tim, a British guy in my class, says that the only thing he remembers from his grammar studies in the UK is that they were absolutely not allowed to use a comma before an "and". All our teachers seem to have different opinions. Our grammar teacher is American and she says that she personally think it's OK to use it, while the teacher we have in written production says he doesn't think it's OK. I'm confused. My instinct tells me to use a comma, but that's probably because I do it when I write in Swedish.

I would really appreciate your input, guys! Don't be shy. Even if you don't have an answer as such, I'd still appreciate your thoughts. :)
